Doggie Throw Up No More

I’m pretty nuts over these Brake-fast bowls.
Granted poor Cessie didn’t come to us with very many teeth, still I get the feeling that isn’t the reason that she insists on swallowing her food whole.  Then some days if she has eaten, excuse me, frantically gobbled, too much food she throws it all up — whole.

This morning I read about this Brake-fast bowel and I think this is our solution. The pegs in the middle slow your pup down so the excitement of a big bowel of food doesn’t force them to swallow whole.

Plus they are only like 16 bucks. I wonder if we can get them for Shop Mimi Green…hhmmmm….

Etsy is my favorite, #1

It is, seriously. And I hardly ever write about it. So from now on Etsy is my Favorite will be a regular column of mine because nothing is better than the kind of beauty you can find on Etsy!

In Honor of my first post, I want to show an Etsian who I have been admiring for a very long time: Bella Blue Designs. Christy Hodgson is the mastermind behind this great lil company and she is a Texan (which if you know me you know Texans are also my favorite!) Bellablue

And by the looks of her shop, she loves dogs. You gotta love this stationary which you can personalize with your name and your dog of choice.Bellablue 2

Of course I would choose the pug!

And for my Auggie I would choose this:

This wiener dog totally reminds me of something he would like:)
I am way into this shop and her prices are totally great.

Plus, wouldn't this be the best bag to carry on cas days?Bellab3

Limited Edition Dog Collars!

Tomorrow at about 10MDT we are going to roll out the first of our
limited edition dog collars! Each one will be hand embroidered and in runs of only 25 of each design.
This is the first part of many exciting things we will be doing for the Christmas season.
Here is a sneak peak of design #1:
Elenore detail

We are selling these Mimi Green creations for $22.50 which is a bit more than are normal stock, but these limited editions are darn cool if I don't say so myself;)

I messed up on the first prototype and tried to remove the embroidery thread only to find out that even cut from both sides, this thread didn't want to come out! This totally annoyed me because I spent 20 minutes furiously pulling each strand out, but made me really happy since I am now assured that even a rough playing dog will not be able to destroy the embroidery.

I can't wait to show the photos of Etta modeling one, it looks way hip on!

Oh and this one is called the "Elenore" since it reminds me a lot of Lesilie's doggie. Here is a picture of her in case you forgot what she looks like:elenore the lab

Goofy lady!

Dolce the French Bulldog on Parade

Dolce, french bulldog

Dan and I had such a fun Sunday today. We met some really cool people, Tania and Chad, who own  Bath, Brush and Beyond Pet Spa here in Albuquerque. They are the proud owners of Dolce, the cutest French Bulldog puppy ever:French Bulldog puppy

We are in the midst of shooting new photos for our band new website and Dolce was the first to model our line. I placed an ad on Craigslist which kept getting flagged (which removes it from their site) by some jerk person, but I did get plenty of responses before that happened. I have a super soft spot for Frencies, so Dolce’s was the first shoot we booked. IMG_7288

Her momma Tania is the nicest lady and had really great ideas for Mimi Green. Her shop might be carrying our line in the future which makes us very excited.

Kim wasn’t available today so Dan shot all the photos. He did an awesome job– turns out that photographing puppies is much different than making art photography! And Dolce had a TON of energy. I didn’t think little legs like that could run so fast;)IMG_7241

And she was super playful. She looked absolutely fab in this Mimi Green collar!

Next I think we are doing Kim’s dog Jackson and Etta and Cessie. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with, she is the best in the world.

Living Vicariously: My Bravo TV addiction

I have a confession to make….
I was going to write tonight about how we landed an art gallery (next post I swear) or about the newest project from Amy Butler’s Little  Stitches for Little Ones, but no, I must make this confession.

I have I a fever and the only thing that can heal it is more Bravo TV.  Yes, that is right, I have a crush on all things Bravo television.

I am supposed to be working right now on a HUGE order but I am not (I am so sorry Melissa! I swear your order is so so close!)  (Yes we are going to be in Yummy Goods, Melissa’s new shop which is another thing that I am super duper excited about, in fact that will be next post because it is so super cool, but back to Bravo)

Okay so I will start off with my all time favorite, I would be in LA chasing him if he weren’t gay, Jeff Lewis from Flipping Out. He is so crazy he is sane. Jeff Lewis is bringing crazy back, which is good for people like me! His staff loves him even though he makes them do things like return his coffee if it isn’t 140 degrees and dictates the percentage of liquids that should go into his drinks (70 percent lemonade/20 percent punch/10 percent Sprite)

I love him because he is neurotic and he doesn’t apologize for it. He doesn’t know this, but Jeff and I, we are kindred spirits! haha.  I don’t miss episodes of Flipping Out.  In fact I think I have seen each one at least 3 times. Yes it is sick I know.

Secondly, I am in love with Date My Ex.  Not a fan of dating shows, but this one is special. Slade Smiley is finding a new boyfriend for his ex-girlfriend Jo De La Rosa and more importantly he is finding a place in my heart. I am beginning to think my husband is jealous of my Date My Ex watching. He tried to change the channel every time it is on which is isn’t a good idea if he wants to keep all his limbs. I am so emotionally invested in this show. Slade is the greatest guy and Jo walks all over him. I just want her to ditch all the guys she is dating and go back to him because he LOVES her! It doesn’t hurt that Slade is the babe of the century:

I can’t leave out Bravo’s newest show Million Dollar Listing.  The main characters are all very young real estate agents in LA who sell million dollar listings, just like the title says. Again, besides the eye candy:

Headshot.chad
The show is super entertaining and informative. I will probably never buy one of these 3- 10 million dollar gems so I like illusion that I know what it feels like to drop that kind of money.

Then there is my undying love for Project Runway, which really I don’t need to tell any of you about. We all know what a killer show that is. Even if you hate it, you love to hate it. You just can’t help it, admit it.

If you know me you know how I hate the television. I hate wasting time, mostly I hate the trash that is on, and I hate the noise of it. Luckily for me my new website needs to go up ASAP and I am doing part of the work myself to save money — on my computer — in my living room– in front of my TV set which happens to be on and stuck on the Bravo channel.

Maybe I need to get a life and stop living through Bravo TV characters but that will wait till tomorrow. Right now, new Project Runway episode and at midnight I shall visit my lonely sewing machine, I promise!

Isn’t she wonderful?

Olive

Meet Olive. She is a 5 year old English Bulldog with a smidge of Boxer and she is so super beautiful, Mimi Green collar or not!
English Bulldog Olive

This happy girl is wearing the ‘Jewel’ collar.  I love seeing my creations in action! I wonder if dogs really know when they are looking good in a new collar or leash. I swear that my dogs do. Etta has a serious freak out when I take hers off and she seemed so happy last time I gave her a new collar. She was acting so grateful and loving!

I guess we will never know though!

New Bed! ‘Corduroy Road’ by Mimi Green

After a weekend of sewing and ripping, I finally think that I have designed a bed that I like! Ettablue3
Etta is the model because although the bed would fit Cessie better she wouldn’t cooperate.

I am loving the back– it is made from corduroy and has an envelope closure for easy washing:Bluesquareback

The top is made from Alexander Henry “petits four” and it has a brown velvet ribbon sewn around the seam for added strength. Ettablue2

First I made the top half green velvet but my sewing could use some work. Three kinds of fabric all sewn together just blew my mind. The end product was a very interesting shape that only slightly resembled a square! I have a bad habit of over-complicating things and when I realized that I was doing that, I went with 2 fabrics and one ribbon. So much more simple, so much more beautiful.

Cessie fit perfectly on this size, but of course she wouldn’t corporate for photos! So miss Etta was kind enough to do me a favor — I really need to make the large size now so that she can fit on it!

I am so excited, tomorrow I have an appointment at a great gallery in town to see if I can get them to sell Mimi Green. I’ll let you know how it goes!
