For those of us not fully aware of how tariffs affect small businesses like Mimi Green and in the end consumers like you; tariffs are a tax levied against a US company by our own government on items brought in from other countries.  When a tariff goes into effect, we as a business are required to pay the US federal government more money to acquire the imported goods or components.  These, often sudden increases can place a difficult burden on small businesses as they directly impact the goods and services they provide often increasing the overall cost of the finished goods or services quite rapidly.

Founded in 2007 by Amanda Jackson Miller Mimi Green designs, manufactures, and ships all of our products from our studios here in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA.  We are a small family-owned business that prioritizes providing health insurance, living wages, paid leave and retirement savings options to all of our employees.

Mimi Green has supported our nuclear family as well as our extended Mimi Green team family throughout the years.  And like many families in the US and throughout the Americas, we are feeling insecure at the prospect of a trade war with our closest (and kindest) allies to both the north and south.  Although we remain hopeful that our foreign friends will continue to support us, we also understand the chilling effect our administration’s current actions may have and support the difficult personal choices each of you may have to make.  

We believe that living in and contributing to a global community necessitates a shared sense of hope for prosperity and peace.  Regardless of our current situation, we remain steadfast in our commitment to being a positive influence on this community. 

 

Tariff Information:

Even though all of our products are made to order in Albuquerque, New Mexico USA, tariffs still have a major effect on ours and many businesses like ours.  Although we do our best to source as many components as possible in the US, currently and for the foreseeable future, it is impossible to get everything we need in the USA.

This means that some of the components that make up our products have and will continue to increase in price.  As in the past, we will do our best to defer as many of these costs for as long as possible, however in the end and in order to continue to provide for our family, our team members, and our pups prices may increase in line with the tariffs.
